Apple, Raisin and Rosemary Bread

In Australia ‘Raisin toast’ is as ubiquitous on café menus and breakfast tables as eggs on toast – it was a staple of my youth in Wollongong alongside coffee, Turkish pide and chicken schnitzel with chips and gravy eaten by the beach. I moved to London and missed easy access to good coffee until within a few years the Antipodeans brought an otherwise perfect city up to speed and began to make good coffee here too.

Rosemary and raisins go so well together; I found this out when I was
