The humble pretzel is such an under-utilized ingredient in desserts. I love the salty taste dimension it can add to cakes and puddings. This recipe is a perfect example. If you do not have time to make cinnamon syrup, you can buy it from good coffee shops or online. This cake is made in an inverted form and you turn the cake out to reveal the pretty pretzel decoration just before serving.
